Comment Policy
On The Art of Manliness we encourage discussion. It’s our goal to create a community of readers who are actively engaged with the site. To ensure that the discussion stays civil and on point, we have established the following comment policy.
We do not pre-moderate any comments and welcome all kinds of thoughts, supportive, dissenting, critical or otherwise.
You must include a real email address with your comment. We’ll keep it confidential and never spam you.
We will delete comments that contains content that:
- is abusive
- is off-topic
- makes spelling or grammatical corrections (if you’d like to correct us, please use the contact form)
- tells us you’re going to unsubcribe to the blog because you didn’t like something we wrote (we don’t care)
- contains ad-hominem attacks
- promotes hate of any kind
- uses excessively foul language
- is blatantly spam
- is excessively whiny, snarky, or rude
- does not make a valuable contribution to the site
- does not use a valid email address
We reserve the right to ban commenters who flagrantly or repeatedly abuse the comment section.
All comments are filtered through spam filtering technology; the kind we use varies over time, but we are currently using a combination of Akismet and Spam Karma 2. The spam-filtering technology isn’t perfect, and from time to time it flags legitimate emails (false positives).
If you find that your comment isn’t immediately showing up, it may have been erroneously flagged as spam. Please email follow up on the status of your comment if it hasn’t shown up after 24 hours and we will do our best to sort it out.
