Great Advice! I want to start my own business, but I do not know what kind of business. So I’m looking everywhere that can help me to start some sort of business.

For a little over 15 years, I was going through about eight to ten jobs a year working for sombody else. Then one day a neighbor asked me to mow his lawn because his mower was on the fritz. When I finished, he insisted that I take “something” for the effort. The rest iz history. I’ve got three comercial mowers of all sizes and two different blowers. I’ve also got a few string trimmers that certainly keep me in business as well. In addition to the trailor that helpes me get all this around, I have a motorized wheelboro that’ll hold an 800 pound load when needed. I must admit that being the lead dog has it’s advantages!!!

Thank you for this great article. I am pretty sure I have come around some sound advice like the aforementioned but it makes a world of a difference when a face and an experience is plugged in to it. The part that really stood out was the example of the family involvement in the journey life takes us. Personally I am struggling with finding one avenue to take, and I believe the hardest struggle for a man is to find or get into in “thing”, but look forward to finding something in which I can loose myself and enjoy everyday.

Nice job. Be proud. My grandfather came over on the boat from Geveta Nova (sp) in Italy when he was in his teens. Decio Barbatelli. He was a tailor in New Haven, CT. As the youngest of the grandchildren I didn’t ever have a suit made. Some sport coats as a young man. My office is decorated old black and white photos of Grandpa Decio in during the 40’s and 50’s. All the men in the photos are wearing his suits, shirts and ties. It a great heritage. What you do has impact way beyond just your clients. You make them and their experiences more memorable.

1. Congrats on taking your life and your passion into your own hands; it’s often a rough but rewarding route if you can stick it out. All good business advice, especially starting immediately (if you don’t, you’ll find the “road less traveled” is eventually well traveled before you get there).

Great advice, especially about waiting to quit your current job and to contribute to your industry through your own articles. His passion sure came through the article. But I also suspect some aspect of entrepreneurship comes from something born in you to be an entrepreneur. His website is now bookmarked in my browser. I need a good suit.

Solid advice. I have been contemplating starting my own design business for a while. Whilst to me this information isn’t anything new, it’s nice to hear a respected source reinforcing all the points I have either suspected or read elsewhere. Thank you, its an excellent interview and I am excited to see more of these coming down the pipe.

PS: Your right about Robert Rodriguez. El Mariachi is a brilliant film given how little it cost and what lengths he went to, to get it funded.
