I can’t tell you how glad i am that you called out Lance Armstrong. Just because someone has won many awards (though under a cloud of accusation) and dealt with a scary health issue (which plenty of people manage to do every day without any accolades) doesn’t make you a man.

Manliness can be seen first and foremost in how you treat yourself and others. You nailed this one.

And is there any reason why women cannot travel that same path?

I agree that scholarship and attention to detail are essential to true manhood, however, they are not exclusive to manhood.

That comment disturbs me. For scholarship and attention to detail are essential to true manhood. Excellence in ANY field demands them. The path of excellence is long and hard – but the travelling of that path is a large part of true manhood.
