Max was correct, though I wasn't surprised to see him pounded down by the more vocal inhabitants here. A chimpanzee can pull a trigger and kill (let alone a mentally disabled human), and that doesn't make him more of a man. The world is full of killers, and I find nothing manly about any of them.

After 20 years of martial arts, I can confidently say that the manliest men in this field that I have ever met not only know how to remove a gun from an armed assailant, they can render him completely helpless without inflicting a *single* injury. Yeah, I know that doesn't sit well with men who think hurting others (or killing them, take your pick) is somehow a manly quality.

See, compassion and masculinity are mutually compatible. Most men I know who refuse to see this are cowards in their own way, and their blustering does nothing to hide that in my eyes.

All valuable lessons. I personally wear the "WWJBD" bracelet to remind me to ask myself, in any difficult situation: "What would James Bond do?"

There's a lot of good meat here, in this article - But yeah, important to remember that you use your own tools based on profession.

All of the other points (particularly the first four, which many people seem to have a great deal of trouble with) are very important, and for some, more applicable than the one about knowing your weapon.
