I am here, because I am a lot smarter than I am secure in myself. These urges are ruining my marriage and so many opportunities for joy in my life. I am weak. Strength is in action not words. I talk a good talk, but I suck on delivery. When it comes to humility . . . I just know what it is and can act humiliated sometimes. My wife is a "Me-Man" at least as much as I am and damn it if I don't just fall into the trap every time! "I taught her that." " I saw that yesterday." You know . . .

Loved the post. Humility is definitely a lost virtue. Our society is so competitive and we feel like in order to get what we want out of life we have to build ourselves up. One symptom of pride is inability to really listen to others. I see myself doing this even online. Instead of really engaging with people I (we) tend to say things or comment for the sole purpose of getting praise.

By the way, thanks for posting the Brian Regan clip. He's hilarious. I have the DVD and it inspired me to watch it again this week.
